Human resources departments in all sectors are revolutionising their modus operandi, adopting innovative models of workforce management based on the latest research and changing employee expectations. The Transformational HR Conference for State and Local Government employees will address how HR functions can apply systems thinking, the importance and implications of emotional intelligence measures in the workplace, and the myriad ways in which organisational psychology can be applied at an individual and organisational level.

Dr Barry Bales and Ms Joyce Sparks, leading practitioners from the University of Texas, will share their research, experience, and insights with attendees. Dr Bales is Assistant Dean for Professional Development at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, and runs several high-profile leadership training programs for managers and executives. Joyce’s experience in emotional intelligence research and application spans the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors.

They are joined by Luke Broomhall, forensic and organisational psychologist, and Susan Close, Parliamentary Secretary assisting the Minister for the Public Sector.
