From the moment we start to walk and talk, many women learn that ‘Good Girls’ don’t boast, always smile nicely and avoid confrontation.
While these behaviours may win approval, they can also undermine workplace presence, professional contribution and career progression. And when frustration builds over time, it can become difficult to communicate clearly, confidently and constructively in high-pressure situations.
If you:
- Replay conversations in your head over and over again, second-guessing what you said and how you said it.
- Leave meetings feeling overlooked, undervalued or just plain invisible.
- Find yourself over-explaining, apologising, or backing down in high stakes conversations.
- Know that people like you. But don’t always listen to you.
- Are frustrated by being labelled ’emotional’, ‘grumpy’, ‘strident’ or ‘too much’.
She Speaks is designed to help women communicate with greater confidence, clarity and impact at work.
Through practical tools, guided reflection and real-world communication strategies, participants learn how to strengthen their professional presence while staying authentic to themselves.
What you’ll learn:
- Body language and vocal habits that will dial up your presence and power without feeling fake or awkward.
- The precise language to use when expressing your opinion, dealing with interruptions and responding to inappropriate behaviour.
- Techniques for saying ‘no’ and establishing boundaries that boost your professional reputation and strengthen your performance.
- How to start (and maintain!) a meaningful conversation with almost anyone.
- A simple tool to dial down your pesky inner-critic, overcome Imposter Syndrome and start listening to your inner coach.
- Why confidence alone isn’t always enough and what to focus on instead.
