IPAA SA, in partnership with SA Futures Agency, is exploring a new Public Sector Foresight Masterclass for people working across strategy, policy, planning, programs and service delivery.
Delivered across four practical half-day sessions, the masterclass will take participants through the complete strategic foresight cycle, from identifying signals of change to developing strategies that can adapt as conditions shift.
Participants will bring a genuine strategic, policy or service delivery challenge from their work and apply each tool throughout the series. This means they will build new capability while also making meaningful progress on a live issue.
The four sessions
- Foundations, Horizon Scanning and Critical Uncertainties
Identify signals, trends and emerging changes, then determine which uncertainties matter most for your work.
- Scenario Generation and Visioning
Develop plausible future scenarios, challenge assumptions and explore what a successful future could look like.
- Scenario Development and Deployment
Turn scenarios into compelling, evidence-based narratives and use them to support strategic conversations and decisions.
- Backcasting, Wind Tunnelling and Strategy Development
Work backwards from long-term goals, stress-test current plans and develop practical strategies that can adapt to change.
